Since 2000, the Kennedy's Disease Association (KDA) has supported patients and families, advanced groundbreaking research, and built a global community rooted in compassion, education, and advocacy. As a volunteer-led organization, we are committed to maximizing the impact of every contribution. More than 95¢ of every dollar donated directly supports Kennedy’s Disease research, education and patient support initiatives.

Advancing ResearchThe KDA has invested more than $4 million in Kennedy's Disease research, funding more than 35 research projects at leading academic and medical institutions around the world. These investments are helping to advance scientific understanding of Kennedy’s Disease, also known as Spinal and Bulbar Muscular Atrophy (SBMA), and accelerate the development of potential therapies and treatments.

Building a Global CommunityThe KDA’s educational resources, advocacy efforts, and support networks reach individuals and families in more than 44 countries, and help to foster a strong and connected international Kennedy’s Disease community.

Annual Patient and Scientific ConferenceEach year, the KDA hosts a Patient and Scientific Conference that brings together patients, families, caregivers, researchers, clinicians, and advocates from around the world. The conference provides an important forum for sharing the latest research developments, encouraging collaboration, and strengthening community connections.

Supporting the SBMA Research WorkshopThe KDA is a proud sponsor of the annual Banbury SBMA Research Workshop, an internationally recognized scientific meeting that brings together SBMA researchers and experts from related fields to exchange ideas, explore innovative approaches to treatment development, and expand collaboration within the research community. This important initiative is made possible in part through support from the KDA’s annual Texas KD Golf Scramble fundraiser.
