Meeting Highlights:
- KDA President Updates:
- The KD Voices initiative is progressing but requires further review before a full launch. KD Voices is the platform for patients and care partners to share their lived experiences with pharmaceutical companies to assist in therapy development.
- In anticipation of CMS’s plan to tighten Medicaid work requirements, KDA plans to survey its membership to learn how many of our members may be affected and will also provide information on how to submit comments/impact statements to OMB by the 31 July deadline.
- KDA Treasurer presented a five-pillar fundraising framework covering semi-annual campaigns, grants/corporate support, major gifts, local fundraisers, and template-driven member appeals.
- The Board discussed final details of the 2025 KDA Annual Report which is nearly ready for publication.
- Venue options for the 2027 KDA Conference were narrowed down to just a few hotels. A decision should be forthcoming by the end of the month.
- The search for an executive director for the KDA is underway, funded by generous contributions from several Board members.
