Board Meeting Notes

Meeting Highlights:  

1. Updates from KDA President:

• Wished departing Board member Simon Hill farewell and thanked him for his many contributions; welcomed new member Nick Holdgate.

2. KDA Treasurer discussed the April financial report and provided a summary of the audit of KDA’s finances that was recently completed by an outside accounting firm.
3. Marketing and Outreach Update:

• The fundraising team has nearly completed the first segment of its donor outreach effort and will be working on follow-on actions. 
  The template for the 100-Step Challenge fundraiser will soon be ready for rollout.
• 2026 KDA Conference: The Board reviewed a list of patient-focused topics from the past six years of KDA conferences and came up with a preliminary outline of an agenda for next year; also began a discussion of pricing in preparation for opening up registration within a few weeks.  

4. Nick Holdgate presented his ideas for establishing regional KDA chapters where members could meet periodically, either informally or with an agenda and speakers. The Board responded favorably and will consider trying out the concept on a limited basis.
