Board Meeting Notes

Meeting Highlights: 

1. Updates from the KDA President:

• Announced that KDA Board Member Randy Soo Hoo is stepping down for personal reasons. We greatly appreciate your contributions, Randy, and will miss you.
• We will need to solicit volunteers to assist with responding to emails received at Info@KDA.
• Reached out to counterparts at international KD patient advocacy groups to initiate sharing information on a more consistent basis. One of the outcomes was an agreement to establish an international KD newsletter.

1. KDA Treasurer provided a financial update, mentioning upcoming fundraisers as well as the effort to investigate tools to assist with fundraising activities and donor management.  
2. Fundraising Updates:

• Dan Jacobs has invited several Top Chef contestants to attend his Dim Sum Give Some fundraiser on April 13.
• We hope to expand the 100-Step Challenge fundraiser, tentatively set to coincide with Father’s Day in June.

1. KDA Website Updates:

• We will be embarking on a refresh of our website, implementing the recommendations provided by our website provider.
• We’d like to reach out to our membership for personal stories that can be included the Living with KD section.

1. We are nearly ready to finalize plans for the 2026 KDA International Patient and Scientific Conference to be held in Orlando from 27 February to 2 March. It will include two days devoted to patient issues and two days for research.
