Board Meeting Notes

March 2026 Meeting Notes

Meeting Highlights:

  1. KDA President reminded members of their responsibility to read and comply with three policies related to being part of a nonprofit management board: conflict of interest, whistleblower, and document retention/destruction.
  2. KDA Treasurer provided a financial update for the month of March which included an accounting of expenses related to the 2026 KDA Conference. He also provided a projection of KDA finances through the end of 2026.
  3. KDA Corporate Secretary provided a wrap-up of the 2026 conference, indicating that the evaluations were universally positive, with many respondents saying that this conference was the best ever. It was notable for the highest ever attendance and amount of interaction between researchers and the patient community. Plans for the next KDA conference will be made pending coordination with advocacy and research partners.
  4. KDA President briefed and led a discussion on KDA support to clinical trial development and implementation which will form the basis for future interaction with pharmaceutical companies.
  5. The nomination of Eric Park to the KDA Board was unanimously approved. As a KD patient with a medical degree and experience as a consultant to pharmaceutical companies, Eric has the ideal background for the position and we are delighted to welcome him to the Board!
Hands joined in a circle, symbolizing unity.
