- Updates from KDA President:
- Canadian SBMA guidelines have been approved for publication in the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) and endorsed by Muscular Dystrophy Canada, Neuromuscular Disease Network for Canada, and the Pewaseskwan Indigenous Research Group. KDA requested a copy of the draft article for review by U.S. KD clinicians and subsequently added its endorsement.
- The KD International Newsletter with updates from six countries is now in draft form and should be released within the next week or two. Thanks to KD-UK for taking the lead on publication and translation.
- Board favorably received a presentation about the Fundraising Committee’s latest activities, focused on development of a 100-Step Challenge toolkit for use by KDA members.
- 2026 KDA Conference Update: Contract with the Rosen Plaza has been signed and a save-the-date email was sent to KDA members. Detailed planning will begin this month.
- Board had a robust discussion of draft 2025 goals that will be published in the KDA 2024 Annual Report.
- Nick Holdgate was unanimously voted onto the KDA Board as the Director for Research.
- Board approved a proposal to host a member forum via Zoom, with the initial session to be scheduled in October 2025
